I’ve served on more search committees than I can count in my 15 years as a full-time faculty member. Over the course of this series, we’ll talk about identifying your priorities in your job search and finding open positions. Then we’ll dig into the application and interview process. We’ll end up with negotiating job offers and getting settled on campus.

In the first post in the series, we’ll identify the types of work that faculty members do, and see which ones are the things you want to do. Then we’ll work through how to find jobs that focus on the parts you want to do.

We’ll spend a couple of posts working through the application process and interview process. After learning how to negotiate the job offer, we’ll end with some tips for getting settled on campus.

If you have specific questions about the process you’d like answered, comment below and I’ll be sure to touch on those issues in the series.

I look forward to seeing you again when we identify your priorities and find positions that align.
