Five days of coaching and writing...and yes you will write every. single. day. And you won't hate it!

About your host
Hi!, I'm Dr. Kimberly J. Hale, a trained faculty success coach, developmental editor, and book coach. I've supported several faculty through establishing a writing practice and publishing their first articles.

And I'm ready to support you!

I know how hard it can be to fit writing into the regular schedule of the semester.

I've seen the boost and long-term momentum a week-long retreat can have on my scholarly output.

That's why I'm super excited to host this first annual writing retreat! I want you to experience a boost and momentum for your career!
About your accommodations
We’ll stay at the Cottonwood Inn in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Bed and Breakfast is located in Kimberly’s current hometown, and makes for a lovely beginning for the annual retreat. The inn is surrounded by farmland. We’ll also spend time at local nature areas in Stillwater.

The inn has multiple nooks and crannies for group or solitary writing, a lovely outdoor seating area for relaxing, and a peaceful nature path for contemplative walks. You’ll love calling the Cottonwood Inn your home for the week!

Focus on your next writing project with a coach and fellow faculty along side you!

This retreat is perfect for you if …

You know you need to write for your job, but you’re not sure how to make progress.

You feel overwhelmed by the thought of writing an article or a book

You’ve tried to make progress on a project before, but you got stuck along the way.

You’re ready to try new writing techniques and strategies to help you get your writing done.

Perhaps you should skip this if…

You want to get away from home, and aren't committed to writing. This retreat is built around a community of support, encouragement, and co-writing sessions.

You have no idea what you could write about and you’re not willing to do preparation work before the retreat.

You want someone to tell you exactly what to do to get your writing done. We’ll work on strategies and tips, but implementation is up to you.

You’re unable to safely navigate stairs or unpaved paths. The Inn where the retreat is hosted is not handicap accessible.

You’ve not had Covid19 vaccination or booster. For the safety of our guests and staff, we are unable to accommodate unvaccinated guests at this time.
